Well, today was the day from Hell for Flora and I. Looking back over the day it could have been a much worse day but all ended well. It started out at 7am as we pulled out of Flagstaff and hit Hwy 40. I had my tennis shoes bungied onto the top of my cooler, and after about 15 or so miles on the highway, there goes one of them. So we stop, walk half a mile back to pick up my shoe and walk back to the bike. Back on the road. We ride to Winslow for breakfast, (where I had to ride the heat for my shoe coming off the bike) weather was nice, and we were really enjoying the nice cool morning air. All of a sudden Flora's cooler decides to let go. Wow, could this be real, did we remember to even tie any of this stuff down LOL. Well, we weren't laughing then but we are now.....kind of. It was really like a Keystone Cops show. We sent Jeff & Cindy on and said we have to go back for this cooler we'll meet you in Farmington. We lost about an hour total but the rest of the day was great. We dodged the rain bullet again, getting rained on just a little by small cells of rain that lasted under a minute and at times was only enough of a sprinkling to get the windshield wet. We saw some absolutely beautiful scenery especially across hwy 491 from Gallop New Mexico to Farmington New Mexico. As we had yet another great Mexican dinner (New Mexico Chili Rellano's are excellent) we talked about what each of us had seen on our separate rides to Farmington. So that's it for today, I put a few pictures up of some of the rock formations. The pictures don't do them justice though. Till tomorrow or the next time I have access to the internet, stay safe.
PS: To those of you leaving tomorrow morning, have a great ride, have fun and make sure you time stuff down good. LOL
